Beach Grill is just ok for a resort lunch spot. There is nowhere else to go if you are staying at Hawk's Cay and don't want to drive anywhere. Drinks were $10. While there, we tried: shrimp cocktail: not traditional (it was already mixed with the cocktail sauce and served with chips). Good, but wish I was told this before I ordered. Everything seemd to come with chips. ham croquettes: weird, came with chips! mexican tortilla salad: decent fish tacos: I thought they were not great because of the carmelized onions, but my mate thought they were absolutely delicious and different. Service was decent. Glad they came around the pool to take your order.

Garbage.... Service: Slow, and they could care less whether you ate/drank there or not. It seemed as if we were more of an inconvenience to their TXT MSGng than a convenience for them to earn their wages. Food Quality: It tasted as if the you could have done better eating a SPAM burger from a street vendor. Value: Value, is a 4 letter word here if you know what I mean! If you are here looking for "value", you are wasting your time. My recommendation: Just make the drive into Marathon, and eat. You'll thank me.

    1) I've been here before and had a wonderful time. Nice outdoor bar and decent (albeit $$) menu 2) My Conch Key hook up told me to go for a local bite and they were there last month (NOT GUEST!!) 3) Valet and information told me to go on out back BUT The Waiter said nope...."We do not accept credit cards or cash." WOW.....you would think that the economy was booming and they were pack enough to turn people away. Not true. On Prinicple - Never again! No way! Never!

Great place, grace services and delicious food. They have exellent fish dip and amazing salads. Service by lagoon and pool - what else to wish for! The prices are reasonable and foid always fresh. My kids love it too. We order here every time we go to lagoon or pool. I highly recommend this place.

Four stars for bar and bar staff, 2 stars for food. The drinks were tasty and potent. Jason was fast and friendly while bringing multiple mixed drinks to our pool area. The food was greasy and boring. Conch fritters and smoked fish dip need help.

Service here is excellent! The food was good, for the prices it could've been better. Had the conch fritters, seared ahi tuna and veggie burger. Not too bad.

Didn't like the food The pizza had too much oil and cheese My husband ordered the burger Same case. Not good and the French fries were awful You can taste in 2 seconds that everything come directly from the freezer and cook it after. Not fresh.

Fish tacos, fish tacos, and fish tacos. "Number one" best seller according to the waiter. And they were good. Had them three days in a row. Unfortunately, the chips that come with them are nothing to speak of. And the rest of the food can be a little hit or miss. The popcorn shrimp were yummy but beware sauce that gets put ON them. (Why not the side? This is a common Keys thing.) The cucumber and watermelon salad had potential but was just sort of there. And the burger and fries was forgettable. The service can be good or bad. Once I got food quick. The other time I waited over an hour. Finally, went up to the stand and they didn't charge me for them. Still, it would've been nice to get them in a reasonable amount of time. Anyways, this isn't a bad option if you're hanging out at the resort. Prices are what you would expect for a resort. Good for a day or two.

The main goal of any good resort should be to have patrons feel like they're having a good time all day. I've never run a resort, but it would seem the first line of defense would be delivering good food and drink to those enjoying the outdoor activities. The Beach Grill was the food/drink provider for beach-goers, pool-goers and Lagoon-goers during our stay at Hawks Cay resort. No doubt that ordering outside by the water was great. But the results were not so great. And for me that brought the whole resort rating down. The food was boring or bad, the bar was badly run, and the staff wavered between surly and harried. Fish taco - Worst I've ever had. A tasteless lump of overcooked fish on a bed of tasteless slaw, on top of a soggy, disintegrating tortilla. Barely edible when famished. Which I was. Margarita - I didn't think it was possible to buy a $13 margarita and not catch a buzz. Beach Grill proved me wrong. Hot dog - too charred for my daughter to eat. Chicken Quesadilla - The most edible thing I ordered, but it contained 90% cheese and 10% chicken. They did OK with the bottled beers, but how do you mess that up? At some point I wised-up and stopped giving them my business. The vacation went better after that.

This place is very convenient for those at the saltwater lagoon or the pool but the food is just very average at best. Then ours had fish tacos and were happy but not blown away. I had a salad with grilled fish on top. It was a terrible salad - was tasteless and the fish was overcooked. definitely wouldn't order that again.

We were staying at Hawks Cay and us parents decide to take an hour to get a massage at the spa. We sent our 4 teenagers: 16, 16, 13 and 12 to get dinner on the resort. We gave them the 2 options - Beach Grill or Oceans on the premises. We recommended Beach Grill just because we thought they would like the outdoor view. Our kids called telling us that Beach Grill wouldn't serve them without a parent. What?!? Why is it even located at a family resort with outdoor (only outdoor) seating? We hurried our appointment and met back up with them. Annoyed and frustrated! We went in as a family and they told us that the outdoor seating was "closed" for a private event. It was 7 pm. They told us we could sit by the tables by the pool and order off the menu. The food was ah-okay. We ordered the pizza, please don't order it. The only item I enjoyed was the salad. Though our experience wasn't a good one. All I can say is their server/waiter - the friendly, out-going one from "Australia" - no accent included WAS THE BEST! I left him a great tip. It was cold that night and there was a heat lamp next to our table. I asked him if he could turn it on and he said he had asked maintenance earlier but they hadn't come by, yet. He then took it upon himself to find a propane tank, changed it in front of us, and turned on the heat for our table. WOW! He even said "that was the first time I done that" and "if you need something done, you have to do it yourself" - I mean, he should have his own Yelp review. I know all the guests loved him, everyone seem to really connect with him during their dining visit. Our kids really enjoyed his presence at our table and his service really masked the bad food and our earlier experience.

The service and the drinks here are pretty good. But the "food" is terrible. Just terrible.. Cardboard has more flavor than the pool side food they serve, and the menu is all over the place.

For a Florida-style tiki bar [palapa hut, wood and bamboo, no actual tikis or polynesian decor] this is as good as it gets. More wood and bamboo and adarondack-styled bar stools than most; closer to true tiki design. Quick, friendly and efficient service [thanks, Jocynth], well crafted drinks, both tropical rum concoctions and more standard classics [thanks again Jocynth], and pretty good prices for a high end resort all add up to great time. The view is fantastic, although I am a sucker for almost any ocean view. We had a couple of bar snacks that were very good; can't evaluate the meals at Beach Grill because we were busy at one of Hawk's Cay's other restaurants. I loved the cocktail they call a Painkiller, although I suspect that it will have a different name eventually when Pusser's trademark attorneys notice it. The firepit area is almost as much fun as the BG itself.

Service sucks unless you eat poolside and Rupert is taking care of you. Once I sat at the bar watched my food sit and go cold while the bartender txt msg on her cell three different times. The chicken quesadilla is the best choice. The hummus has too much garlic in it. The fish taco was just runny and gross, the mahi sandwich was bland, the ham & swiss panini was cold and the cheese was not even melted. The salad is ok. If there was anything else not associated with Hawk's Cay within walking distance to the adult pool this place would go bankrupt. Would have given one star if we didn't have Rupert help us out one day.

Yeah! First to review. Just got back from a terrific trip to Hawks Cay and found my fave spot to be the Beach Grill. Chris was my bartender and mmm...my mojito was delicious! The Beach Grill is kind of hidden between the main pool and adult pool but having a spot to get out from under the sun and sip on a fun drink while chatting it up with other guests was a blast! Love meeting new people and this is totally the place to do it. The pace down there is amazing, I had very little interest in returning to my city life. All I know is that if I closed my eyes at my desk and could wish myself to somewhere far away, it'd be Hawks Cay, bellied up to the Beach Grill bar, listening to their tricked out music system, sipping on a mojito.

We drove to Hawks Cay during our vacation in Key West just to explore more of the Keys & because my wife had come across one of their ads in a magazine, and knew we'd like the dolphin portion of the resort. We had lunch at the Beach Grill being that it is the only game in town. None of us were overly excited with our food & drinks. The location is fantastic. Our server was very friendly and attentive. But the food just seemed overpriced for what it all was. Although we do not regret going, we would not make it a point to return.
